Giving Tuesday (#GivingTuesday) was launched in 2012 as a day to celebrate generosity by giving back to our local communities. Every year, Giving Tuesday is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, immediately after the holiday shopping frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

After the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s easy to get caught up in our shopping lists and the commercial aspects of the holiday season. But Giving Tuesday is a way to change our perspective…instead of concentrating on what we can get, Giving Tuesday helps us to focus on what we can give.

Giving Tuesday is a day dedicated to giving back to our community through local non-profit organizations. Since it began in 2012, Giving Tuesday has grown into a global generosity movement that has raised millions of dollars for non-profit organizations around the world.

Giving Tuesday has also raised awareness of the many smaller non-profit organizations that provide much-needed services to specific groups in our local communities. Thanks to the movement behind Giving Tuesday, millions of people have been inspired to get personally involved with non-profits and generously give of their talents or their time—which for some is the most precious resource of all.

Single Parent Advocate is participating in this global generosity movement through #GivingTuesdayDFW. In honor of our 10th anniversary, on Tuesday, December 3, please click and give generously to make a difference in our community!
