Volunteering is important because it goes a long way towards creating a healthy community. Who is more important in our community than the children who are our future? As an example, by providing back packs of school supplies we are helping children to be more motivated to excel at school.
It showcases your gratitude as you become successful. Using your God given talents to bless others, is a fulfilling way to share your skills, abilities and resources.
During times of difficulty and stress, people need help. There are government and community agencies assigned to this task. However, it’s usually not enough.
When you take part in Single Parent Advocate events and activities you get closer to people. You make new acquaintances and come to know your friends even better. By getting more involved with other people, your self-confidence also increases.
One reason why volunteering is important is that you give others hope. A discouraged person will be uplifted when he or she realizes that there are people out there who care enough to help. It brings back their faith. It makes them aware that not everything is about money.
The selfless act of helping a person or family provides a spiritual boost as well. Knowing you did something good for someone or some cause is an emotionally uplifting experience that can never be matched by money or fame.
